This week I take on an unbelievable challenge at Stockbridge Golf Club as I go head to head in a Pro vs Pro match play against the club’s Head Professional, Roger Broad.

No handicaps. No excuses. Just pure match play golf on Roger’s favourite holes at Stockbridge Golf Club.

I’ve been filming a lot of golf content here recently, but this one is different… this is a true test of skill, strategy, and nerves under pressure.

Can Gary Martin take the win, or will the Head Pro defend his home course?

  9. Only played this course once, but loved it… Get your hiking boots on! The view are wonderful and the holes make you think. Great place! worth a visit!

  10. Rogers comment about don't putt after a concession as that's what counts is incorrect. Once the hole has been conceded that hole is over for that player.
    "Rule 3.2b(1) states:
    ​"A player may concede the next stroke, a hole or the match… A concession is made only when it is clearly communicated… A concession is final and cannot be withdrawn or declined."

  12. Great match, I've played Stocksbridge quite a few times & i will be back this summer, its one of my favourite courses close to home & has a totally different vibe to my usual courses. I've had a couple of lessons in the shop with Rodger & he's so easy to get along with & knows his stuff. I would also like to add there's a screen in his shop you can go on by your self or in a lesson. I've bought a few clubs from him, got fitted for my previous set of irons & bought some Vokey wedges from him. He also bought my older clubs in a trade in at some great prices. I played in a 4 ball once there & the greens had been hollow tined we didn't complain & still enjoyed the day, out of nowhere a committee member come over to us & handed us an envelope with a free round for us all i was shocked & very grateful for the kind gesture, they are so welcoming. All in all you wont go wrong with Stocksbridge & Roger.

  15. Fantastic content as always Gary. Stockbridge as you say is a great course, incredibly friendly members and all the staff/greenskeeper are amazing. Roger is a top guy, always has time to help improve my game, he’s a great club fitter too. I’ll be a member at Stocksbridge for a long time to come.
