GTS Drivers Reveal Titleist’s Speed Problems

The new Titleist GTS driver range is here, but is it actually faster, longer and more forgiving…or just another yearly update?

In this video I test the NEW Titleist GTS2, GTS3 and GTS4 drivers both indoors and out on the golf course to see whether the latest Titleist technology genuinely delivers more ball speed, distance and accuracy.

Titleist claims the GTS range combines speed AND forgiveness with breakthrough aerodynamics, redesigned weighting and the new Speed Sync face technology. But does it really outperform previous TSR and TSi drivers? Let’s find out…

  1. Anybody that pays over £600 for a new driver needs their head examined. Why buy new when you can buy an older Titleist for less than half the price. Is it worth paying an extra £300-400 for 1 additional mile an hour? HELL NO so reviews like this should just say upfront and end it there!

  2. Hi Mark can you help please just got a set of cleveland zipcore xl2 graphite irons 6 to pw I cannot find anywhere a cleveland zipcore xl2 graphite 5 iron and and a sand wedge i can only find them in steel shafts . Have you any idea on where I can find them I have tried e.bay and all other companies. Need Help.

  3. Are viewing figures on new drivers across YT 📺 up or down versus years gone by I wonder ?

Curious as most people in our playing groups have now given up believing the hype tag lines and just think it’s all much the same these days between companies and you should pick based on budget and eye appeal

If I’ve got £600 spare I’m going for some on course lessons all day !

    Happy golfing all ! ⛳️

  4. According to the Arcoss stats I looked at recently, average driving distance has not improved for at least 8 years – 2018 was the start date of the stats. Regular release of product updates is driven by American corporate greed. We’re fortunate that ,unlike other rip- off industries , golf clubs do not require electronic update so cannot have support withdrawn after a few years.

  5. What I like the most about the new line is the weight adjustability added to the GTS2 to control spin if you want. Regardless I always skip at least 2 cycles with Titleist so won't be changing from my GT2.

  6. Pricing is out of control, buy used. Heck, buy a used head and get the shaft you are fitted to put in it! That's what I did and saved half on a Callaway Elyte TD Max which didn't even come with the shaft I was fitted for, found the shaft on ebay for a very reasonable price, installed it into a used head from a member on golfwrx. That's the best way imo.

  7. Nike drivers were NEVER the number one driver on tour. They were used by some of the best players but they were never #1 in any counts or overall usage.

  8. I don't see paying $700 for one club that you might hit 14 times a round. You can go and buy the last here driver for half that price. Thanks for the no BS video.

  9. Why not bring back persimmons? Well, "state of the art" is supposed to be carbon and titanium, especially at these prices. Throwing "bling" on the back of a club does not impress me. Plastic and stainless steel has been around a long time. I think it's time for Titleist to invest more in their products, and perhaps charge less. BTW, I use a Callaway ai smoke driver (one of the best looking clubs ever, imho), and the Titleist GT280 mini. The look of the mini is nearly identical to my Callaway Util. wood, OK but an old style. The mini does not feel or sound as good as my Callaways fairway woods (Rogues – perhaps the best fairways ever made or at least equal to the best) but it does the job where I need it. There's much more excitement in the new shafts and even grips than in Titleist drivers . . . .

  10. Titleist GT line has been a benchmark driver from the first day in my fitting matrix. Solid, high ballspeeds, reliable spin rates. Overall just a great product. But…all major brands produce solid products. Some are more reliable moving from one generation to the next, others not so much, but they rarely produce a really bad club anymore.

  11. Titleist is behind in technology to the likes of Cobra, Callaway and TaylorMade in regards to club face technology to increase forgiveness across the face and ALSO Titleist DOESN'T have enough adjustment with weights for fade or draw bias or MOI with weights that move front to back. The Titleist 8 gram front weight doesn't move enough to the outer edges of the heel or toe to make a drastic difference in ball flight and you CAN'T move weights on the Titleist from front to back to adjust spin rate or forgiveness 😢. Cobra and PXG have the most advanced weighting system to adjust ball flight, MOI and spin and Cobra DEFINITELY HAS THE GOLD MEDAL 🏅 for hosel adjustment with the FF33 which is REVOLUTIONARY and every other brand is in the DARK AGES with their hosel technology. Cobra, PXG and Callaway are the most "fittable" and fitting is CRITICAL for a driver. The Cobra FF33 hosel and weight system and their new POI is amazing and can make HUGE differences in achieving all the flight characteristics that every buyer with a unique swing is looking for. Wake up Titleist, if you are going to have a weighting system then make it MORE ADJUSTABLE to actually have a considerable effect on ball flight 😮

  12. Here is the truth people. It's not about faster ball speed on cenetr shots: it's about off center hits and giving the forgiveness factor a bump.
Don't go buy a new driver every year because it's just not real. Now Taylormade new QI4D is a beast but same idea. Forgiveness and off
cenetr hit ball speed increase. USGA can't allow super speed drivers.

  13. I'm done with paying massively inflated prices for golf gear. It's getting too much now but these drivers will sell because people need shiny new stuff.

  14. Bummed the 4 grew to 460….my favorite Titleist driver ever was my 913D3 that was 425cc…I like smaller headed clubs…I seem to hit them more center than bigger ones…same with irons. I hit GI irons all over the face and hit my player irons pretty flush (Miura KM700s and Mizuno S3s)….

  15. I bought a GT3 in my fitted spec in the black Friday sales with the upgraded Tour Design shaft for less than 2/3 the RRP and a similar deal for Elyte titanium fairway woods, can’t see me changing anytime soon but if I did, it would possibly be for one of the Quantum drivers but I’d let fitting performance dictate! TD max, on paper, suits my game but paper and reality often are different beasts!

  16. At near $1200 AUD I'll pass. For me not a big enough difference in technology and performance from say a 2024 QI10, Paradym AI smoke for about half the price. My current clubs are 15 years old but for a club I'll hit about 8-10 times a round I'll invest more money in new irons and get a "new" 2-3 year old driver.

  17. Driver heads don’t make much of a difference. It’s all in the shafts and a proper fitting. Compared Titleist and Wilson drivers, exact same shaft, no difference in distance, dispersion but the Wilson was 300$ less. Easy choice.

  18. I think golf equipment generally but particularly with the “big” brands are way out of control.

BUT, if the market will pay/keeps paying increasing prices, then that will continue.

So we are driving that as much as the manufacturers. If we want them to revise pricing we need to move toward second hand or cheaper options.

The market will always charge the highest people will continue to pay for it.

  19. Great, honest review. I’m not a fan of the shiny top. I live in Arizona with powerful sun about 320 days per year. The reflection kind of washes out my vision looking down at the club. I much prefer a matte finish.

  20. I went and got fitted today and placed my order. Everything that Titleist said about this driver ended up being true when I hit it. Not saying that will be true for everyone but it is the best driver I have ever hit in my life. As for pricing, once I saw that Callaway hit that $700 USD price point, I knew Titleist was going to be right behind them and I think all the other clubmakers will follow suit

  21. Interesting to keep all heads 460cc. I game a Ping G430 LST which is a 440cc head, had it just over 2 years now. I think I’d struggle to go back to a 460cc, I’ve grown to love the smaller head, feels like I can control it better. That being said I am otherwise a Titleist fanboy, GT280, 2025 T series irons, SM10s and ProV1 in the bag. Gonna try pick up a GT3 5 wood for a few bucks less soon
