  1. he ain't . . yet! the amazing/scary part is how fast he's becoming the league's most obvious candidate for multiple MVP + DPOY awards in the same season (done once each by 3 different players).
year 4 is gonna be crazy, especially if the Spurs win a chip this year. the team is so young and so well balanced that Victor doesn't have to the highest scorer or even the best player for them to win, but when he does achieve that, they're gonna be a consistent WCF/Finals team.

  2. Amazing to see how well Wemby is playing. He's quickly entering greatest defender of all-time potential and time will tell.
I will say, as much as the illegal defense helped offensive players avoid roaming defenders clog lanes… it also hurt all-time great defenders such as Hakeem Olajuwon because they weren't allowed to sag off their defender and clog lanes themselves thus negating their defensive impact.
In any case, you know you're a problem when the league allows players to rag doll you and constantly foul you like they did with Shaq, Curry, and now seemingly Wemby which is a strong contrast to what we've seen for Harden and now Shai.

  3. Wemby is a very good stretch big on offense. He is a complete anomaly on defense. This whole narrative of him not being good enough offensively to be in MVP conversations is wild, they act like he's a Gobert.

  4. No, he's not the best player in the world and it's not really close. Have you seen some of the games he's had? Some of the plays? Compare them to guys like Jokic and Shai who are clearly far above him in skill and knowledge of the game. Also he has a distinct 1 foot height advantage over everyone in the league. Take that away and he's an average NBA starter at best.

  5. There aren’t many who have blocked a shot with their backup hand. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Blake Griffin on Jonas jerebko where he was caught jumping on a pump fake, flew bye, 180’d and got the block with his opposite hand. A move I like to call the reverse block

  6. The Spurs are so good at defense not only because of Wemby ,yes he can neutralise slasher guard but Spurs also have many decent perimeter defender(Castle,Fox,Harper,Vessell) to close out every 3s knowing they have Wemby as rim protector, they re fine with getting drive by, this team is gonna be good for years

  7. I hate all of this as a Wolves fan but Goddamnit, I've never seen a clear difference between a player being on-off than Wemby right now… And he's only 22, smh!

  8. 0:42 Wemby hits more dudes in the face than anyone I've ever seen. He clocked Rudy in game 4, too. Wemby is completely out of control half the time, and it's going to result in a serious injury at some point. Possibly even to himself.

  9. After the bronsexual's king got swept again, these fanboys have already jumped the Spurs bandwagon train as they can't stop crying that OKC obliterated their king after they hyped him against the Rockets. You can just imagine the embarrassment for them. They need and must see OKC get beaten. So Spurs, prepare to see the circus in town.

  10. He’s maybe 10-12th best offensive player and all time levels great on defense. If he can become a top 3 offensive player in the league and his defends holds, he’s going to be the goat

  11. did a bit of washing over when comparing Mark Wallace's impact compared to Wemby im not saying Wallace is better than Wemby or just as good, however all across the league in the nba the disparity between playoff basketball and regular season basketball in terms of scoring has the largest disparity of all time, this is according to Matt Stein, regular season defense is just non existent now. Not saying its a player problem or the way its being reffed but ofcourse there is gonna be a statistically large drop off in scoring now more than ever.

  12. We all know that travelling become an "accepted" play when leFraud keep travelling in his whole career. Stern had to adapt for their entitled baby leFraud.
