“We’re proud to support the Women in Golf Awards WPGA Pro-Am, a fantastic event that showcases the strength and progress of women’s golf,” said Matthew Johnson, General Manager at Acushnet UK – home to the Titleist and FootJoy brands. “At Titleist and FootJoy, we remain committed to helping the women’s game continue to grow. And as signatories of the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter, we look forward to working on similar initiatives in the future.”

Nicole Wheatley – CEO of Medi8 Golf and founder of the title sponsors, Women in Golf Awards, believes that the event is a great opportunity to highlight the stellar work being carried out by many women in the industry.

“We are delighted to be able to support the WPGA Pro-Am,” she said. “Our mission is to celebrate all of the talented women working in the golf industry, which aligns perfectly with this fantastic event. The more opportunities we have to see women excelling in their respective fields, the better and I am very much looking forward to seeing these amazing players in action.”

Lynn mcCool, General Manager of Donegal Golf Club, and one of the primary driving forces behind the event which has followed her from Glasson Lakehouse where she served as Director of Golf previously, believes the event has gone from strength to strength as it gears up for its fourth staging.

“After the success of the inaugural event played in 2023, we had to continue on from its success and now we move into year four,” she said. “We received outstanding feedback from competitors and PGA officials alike, which we attribute to the enjoyable and well-curated experience we created for everyone.

“It’s very exciting to be bringing it back to Donegal Golf Club as all the participants get to experience this incredible part of Ireland. I’m thrilled at the support from the golf professionals from across Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales. We also have Dawn Mercer from Innisbrook USA teeing it up this year. I love the format we have put together for the Pro-Am with the golf clinic prior to the round and we will have a Q & A with some of the professionals after dinner.”

Lynn expressed her sincere thanks to event partners Women in Golf Awards, Titleist & FootJoy, and the Wild Atlantic Way, and acknowledged the kind support of Revo and AK Golf.

The Links course at Donegal Golf Club, which has undergone redesign works by former European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley, is as challenging as it is scenically stunning. The golf course sits on the Murvagh Peninsula, which juts out into the Atlantic and offers the serious golfer an unforgettable links golf experience with sweeping views of Donegal Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the Bluestack Mountains and sensational shot values as you plot your way through the high dunes, battling those fresh Atlantic breezes.
