The 18-year-old granddaughter of Donald Trump shared the emotional moment in a new YouTube vlog documenting the final week of her senior year at The Benjamin School in Jupiter, Florida.

Before taking viewers through senior activities and graduation traditions, Kai Trump became emotional while reflecting on how quickly life had changed. Sitting in bed beside one of her closest friends at the start of the vlog, Kai admitted that she does not usually consider herself an emotional person, but said the reality of graduation hit her harder than expected.
“Well, this is not the normal way I start my vlogs,” Kai said at the start of the video, filmed on Sunday before her final week of school. As her voice cracked, she admitted she was struggling with the idea of leaving behind the people she had spent years growing up alongside. “These are the people I’ve been with since eighth grade and since I moved to Florida,” she said tearfully. Kai moved from New York to Florida when she was 13, following her mother, Vanessa Trump’s divorce from Donald Trump Jr.
Kai explained that part of the sadness came from knowing her friend group would soon scatter across different colleges and cities. Although she and two of her closest friends will attend the University of Miami together this fall, others are heading elsewhere. “But we’re all splitting up now, and it’s really sad,” she said before becoming too emotional to continue speaking for a moment. After regaining composure, Kai reflected on how much she loved her high school experience. “I’ve had a great time in high school,” she shared. “I’ve met a great group of people, great classes, and school, and everything like that.”
