77 years old carry 5 and 7 wood g430 ping , 5 iron longest iron .
When I started the clubs were awful, the sweetspot on your driver was invisible and the ball went nowhere. If you wanted to reach a par 4 of 410 or more you had to hit 3 wood second shot. It was that simple. Now I have friends who will not hit a 3 wood off the deck or even off a tee peg. And yet you go play with the seniors and they are hitting 3 wood off the deck pretty straight. I think the biggest factor is fear. People are afraid to hit it, afraid of the result.
I've got 2 of my greatest fairway wood shots coming up in some videos. A 3 wood off a steep downslope over water for a birdie. And then a 5 wood over water to an island green for an eagle. You can't do that if you are afraid.
Great show!!! The only reason I went w hybrid was for some versatility in borderline lies and chipping around the green. I may change my mind tho😅
