The Joe Lovie and Altaire Texas scramble was played at Whalsay Golf Club on Saturday the 2nd of May.

Eight teams of three entered the competition and had very tough conditions with a very cold northerly force six making scoring challenging.

The Joe Lovie trophy for the handicap was closely contested with the team of Natalie, Nathan and Aaron Constable winning with a net 61.9.

In second place was Rosie and Graeme Sandison with granddaughter Brooke Robertson on net 62.9.

The Altaire Trophy for scratch was won by Krissie Robertson, Grant Thomson and Neil Anderson with a gross 71. They beat Louise Laurenson, Stuart and Steven Anderson who came in second place on the back six holes.

Captain Mark Jamieson made a good speach thanking everyone who played on such a tough day.

With some better weather at the end of April, Whalsay Golf Club played other competitions.

First up was the Williamson Scramble and the winners were Neil Anderson, Joe Huntley and Brian Anderson with a net 59.8.

In second place was Anthony Shearer, Grant Thomson and Wilbert Shearer with a net 61.9.

Next was the RJ Polson Cup doubles, with better net scores counting for the team.

Winners were Michael Anderson and Edward Jamieson with a net 63, second place was Stuart Anderson and John Phillip Sandison with 66.

The last competition in April was the IG Sandison Trophy Pinehurst doubles.

Winners were Grant Thomson and Neil Anderson with a net 68 and in second place was the young team of Aaron Constable and Tom Montgomery.

The RNMDSF Mission Cup on Saturday 23rd of May. The club hopes to see a good turnout.

The Whalsay Golf Club offered thanks to its volunteers for helping top dress the greens.
