Lucas Herbert Wins LIV Virginia, Holds Off Sergio and Books U.S. Open Spot

Lucas Herbert is finally a LIV Golf champion.

The Ripper GC star claimed his first individual LIV title at LIV Golf Virginia 2026 after holding off a fierce Sunday charge from Sergio Garcia at Trump National DC. Herbert spent more than 60 holes leading the tournament, survived major momentum swings, a double bogey, a weather delay, and a late Sergio push before closing out the biggest win of his career.

In his winner’s press conference, Herbert breaks down the stressful final round, the key putt that stopped Sergio’s momentum, the pressure of playing with the lead, and what it means to join all three of his Ripper GC teammates as LIV individual champions.

He also talks about earning a U.S. Open spot, why this victory means so much after two and a half years chasing it, and why he plans to celebrate like it might be the last one.
