Bartlesville was a great venue for the state tournament, but Hillcrest Country Club provided plenty of teeth for the golfers at the OSSAA State Tournament. Perry Maxwell designed it that way nearly a century ago—rolling hills, tight fairways, greens with more personality than most reality TV casts. And for Yukon’s Haydin Bowman, it made for a two-day test that was equal parts steady golf, strange moments, and Oklahoma weather doing what Oklahoma weather does best: whatever it wants.
