  1. We talk about how awesome Ben is as a play caller, and rightfully so. But, his ability as a "leader of men" – I think that means as much or more, in terms of turning this franchise around. Granted, it's been one season, but who was the last coach you could really say that about? Establishing a clear culture, accountability and identity? Lovie?

Everflub and Nagy – barf. Fox, Trestman? I mean, YIKES.

As far as the run D – outside of van den Berg, the UDFA Loving, the Bears may have actually gotten WORSE in the middle of the DL. Gallimore is almost as bad as Gervon in the run game, and Lynch and Street are undersized, back end rotation depth/camp bodies. I am really worried that we are gonna get grounded and pounded, with 5, 6 and 7 yard runs, right up the middle, over and over and over.

  2. If 50 years has passed, the number should be available again – but not at same position – and name stays up on the wall. Seems fair?

  3. If you need more than 2 seasons at this point to rebuild BOTH sides of the ball, you're doing it wrong. We supposedly have the QB, and he's on a rookie deal. BTW I would recommend not extending him until you have to, not before he's in his 5th year. But because Poles has no clue how to find and evaluate D line (DT and Edge), and apparently this regime just doesn't value D line like most NFL clubs…we may never win another Super Bowl.

  4. We have way too many retired numbers, as a result of being one of the oldest teams in the league. No more NEW retired numbers and it is time to start using ones that have been "retired." I'd like to see a #3, 5, 7, 28, 34, 40, 41, 42, ETC.

  5. I disagree with this call to unretire numbers just because an increasingly large number of fans have no clue who those players were. Some of these players were iconic in their era and should still be remembered.

The bears have 14 retired and its never really been a problem but fine make it an even 10 and bump one whenever you want a new one.
