Lucas Herbert was in a different world during Round 2 of LIV Golf Virginia 2026 at Trump National DC.
The Ripper GC player fired a spectacular 9-under round, including a stretch of six birdies in seven holes, to move to 17-under par and open up a six-shot lead after 36 holes. Herbert described the feeling as one of those rare days when everything comes easily: the shots match the picture, the putts break exactly as expected, and even the mistakes seem to work out.
In this press conference, Herbert talks about being “in the zone,” handling a lead he has never experienced before, why he came into the week with low expectations, and how playing alongside Marc Leishman helped him stay relaxed. He also reflects on LIV’s shotgun format, having family on site, and why Ripper GC’s chemistry is such a big part of their success.
