Ping Equipment Warning

Ping Equipment Warning

I recently got fitted for a full bag of Ping clubs. Took them out to the course for the first time and got them a little dirty, so I decided to clean them off in our furnace. THEY MELTED!

Contacted Ping’s warranty and they claim that you are not supposed to clean clubs or bags with fire so I guess I’m out several thousand dollars for nothing.

  1. Well duh, you’re supposed to take them out of the bag first. Only Callaway offers a furnace bag.

  2. i thought you got struck by lightning. turn out youre just an idiot. everyone know you dont put the BAG in the oven too! just the clubs man!

  3. We are so close to satirizing posts that haven’t even been posted yet. It’ll happen one day, I know it.

  4. Was your grip too strong and bag too far forward in your stance when you chucked them in the furnace?

    Not Ping’s fault.

  5. Second post today about melting metals. Just saw I guy who melted his old school metal miniatures while trying to dry some paint.

  6. That’ll buff out. $100 for some new golf pride grips and they’ll be as good as new. I think the bag is fine, but your wife might, *might allow you to get a new one.

  7. So, wait, you’re not supposed to clean your clubs with fire? I thought that’s how you sterilized them…..

  8. Those iron heads are just fine. That’s what they look like when I torch them off to change the length of my ferrules, double check the weight insert, or deep clean the shafts. Just hit them lightly with 400 grit and then some steel wool for that raw finish. Good news here is the epoxy is likely carbonized saving you a step, bit of luck if you ask me.
