Rosslare Golf Club proudly hosted the Irish Golfer Event Series on Saturday, marking an historic first partnership between the club and one of Ireland’s leading golf media brands.
The event drew players from across the country to the celebrated Rosslare Golf Links, with the south-east’s famous sunshine providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable day of competition.
Club Captain Colm Waldron performed the ceremonial first tee-off alongside past Captains Boyd Scott, Paul Boggan and Vice-Captain J.P. Cullen, before the field got under way on a course that drew widespread praise from competitors.
The prestigious Waterford Crystal Irish Open Trophy was on display, adding a special touch to the occasion.
Three members of Rosslare Golf Club featured among the prize-winners.
John Lacey claimed first place in Category 1 (gents, up to 11 playing handicap) with an impressive 41 points off an 11 playing handicap, winning a TaylorMade Qi4d Driver and a place in the series Grand Final.
Rhys Clarke took the best gross award with a superb round of 70, winning a Bushnell Laser Rangefinder.
President Mary O’Shaughnessy was top Rosslare finisher in the ladies’ category with 35 points, winning a TaylorMade Qi4d Rescue.
“We are absolutely delighted with how the event went,” said club Captain Colm Waldron.
“Rosslare Golf Links is a truly special place to play golf and it was wonderful to showcase it on such a prestigious platform.
“Congratulations to John, Rhys and President Mary, they were fantastic ambassadors for the club on the day. We look forward to welcoming the Irish Golfer Series back in 2027!”
