LIve F1 chat with Peter Windsor

What a race! The brilliance of Kimi Antonelli; the unmatchable talent of Max Verstappen; the razer’s edge driving of Charles Leclerc: it was all there in Miami – together with Lando’s Sprint and a couple of ultra-crazy shunts. Let’s talk about it on YouTube chat – talk about Miami, the upcoming race in Canada and how the season as a whole is beginning to take shape.

  1. why would the power unit influence the quality of racing. I personally can only think that electrification removes the noise. but not the racing. It’s the harvesting rules that are making it artificial. to stipulate that you have to burn fossil fuel in your engine isn’t a sensible position for those that value racing

  2. purists is one that don't care how exciting the race would be but just how the drivers n their machines tackled the track n laps with speed, braking , entering n exiting fast in corners etc….. plus main thing is the perfect balance percentage of machines power n capabilities of drivers. purists don't care how many overtakes there are …but of course the more the merrier…but main thing is how the drivers are getting the fullest n maximus from their machines with their power of knowledge, skills n strength

  3. What in your opinion does RedBull and Mercedes have to do to get off to better starts? Is it simply the smaller turbos that give Ferrari their quick starts? And btw what at this stage can be done about it?

  4. You’re right Peter, people should be thinking for themselves. Thanks for sharing your Zanardi memories. I was fortunate enough to watch him win gold at Brands Hatch at 2012 Paralympics.

  5. 2:47:11 great point… MBS stated "very minor electric component" and Toto then said he agreed with him on V8 but felt it should be a "1200hp monster" (being 400 electric/800 ICE)

  6. Thank you for exonerating Lawson. Everyone’s default is to blame him when 9 times out of 10 it’s not entirely his fault, and if he was a different personality from a bigger market, he would be judged very differently.
He definitely locked his brakes with the failure but it looked like his electronics 💩 themselves when his gears failed to protect the gear box. Unfortunately the RB was slow and unreliable all weekend.

  7. The engine sounds, heard from the onboard camera, were pitiful in Miami. At the end of the straight, they made like a sad moaning noise, or was it just me hearing that?

  8. How the cap is is very much Ayrton Senna and I never mention Senna with anyone, is a bit cringe imho, all drivers are different. But with Antonelli… yeah
