In this video, Brian Hughes, PGA Master Professional and Program Director at Keiser University College of Golf, breaks down Rule 19 of the Rules of Golf and explains what players can do when a ball becomes unplayable.
Using a real on-course scenario with a ball trapped behind a tree, Brian walks through the three relief options available under the unplayable ball rule, including stroke and distance relief, back-on-the-line relief, and lateral relief. He explains the penalty involved with each choice and how understanding your options can help minimize mistakes and save strokes during a round.
This easy-to-follow rules lesson helps golfers build confidence on the course by learning how to apply Rule 19 correctly and make smarter decisions in difficult situations.
