What’s up everyone, first of all I appreciate any feedback.
I have been golfing for about 6 years, and other from going from a beginner to being able to score in the 80s and low 90s with my lowest round ever being a 78, I have felt like I have been regressing.
I am having trouble pinpointing what it is in my swing. I played my best golf when I didn’t even care about what my swing looked like, but it was still about a 10 handicap at best. Now I have taken it more seriously and researched what constitutes a good golf swing (mostly via AMG golf on YouTube) but now I feel like I need some more eyes on my swing:
I know cameras can be deceiving, but it seems like I early extend and jump out of posture and my back raises. This has always been the reason I believe I could never be consistent enough to get into single digits and led to back pain. I used to do this much worse to the point where I would be on my toes at impact. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to rotate properly. Every time I try to do anything different, my hips look fine but my entire swing ends up looking horrible. I am looking for advice on how to feel what proper rotation on the hips looks like, and how to time it with my upper body. I don’t know how to keep my upper body down without losing literally half of my distance.
Finally I would also like to say my driver is about a million times better than any irons. During a round I have little issues driving the ball but only make solid iron contact about %10 of the time. Literally every iron I have has a wear pattern way on the toe, and I sometimes have to line it up like Wesley Bryan does to have any chance of finding the face.
Sorry for the block of text, just hoping one person would read this and provide some insight. Thanks 🙏
