KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Coming up this Friday May 8, it’s the annual Phillip Fulmer Golf Classic, with the proceeds going to benefit the boys and girls clubs of the Tennessee Valley.
his is the 27th year of the event, which has raised more that 3 million dollars for the cause.
lots are filled up for this year’s event at the Avalon Golf Club, but opening today is the online auction, which generates a lot of revenue for the clubs and thanks to some terrific items!

2026 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship
• Date: December 9-13, 2026
• An important change to this year’s program is Pebble Beach Golf Resorts will be
renovating The Links at Spanish Bay, which has traditionally been one of the three
tournament courses. Since it will be out of commission during the National
Championship, we will be using Poppy Hills Golf Course for our tournament this year,
along with our two other main courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links, and Spyglass Hill Golf
Course. The Inn at Spanish Bay will remain our host hotel for the event.
• Tournament format:
• 54-hole event, three days of play, 18 holes per day
• Two-person better ball, Amateurs Only
• All players must have USGA certified handicap indexes to compete in the Net
Division; a maximum of 80% of a player’s handicap index will be used
• Hospitality package:
Food & Beverage package that includes: Daily Breakfast (Thurs. – Sat.)
Group dinners on Wednesday and Saturday
