If you’re not bombing drives 300+ yards, this is for you.
In this video, I break down how to play scratch-level golf as a short hitter. You don’t need elite distance to shoot under 75—you need strategy, consistency, and the right mindset. I’ll walk through how I approach the course, manage mistakes, and lean on the parts of my game that actually matter.
This is about playing smart golf, not long golf.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re at a disadvantage because of distance, this will change how you see your game.
What you’ll learn:
Course management strategies for shorter hitters
How to score without relying on distance
The mindset needed to break 75 consistently
Where strokes are actually gained and lost

Good vid. I live within 30 mins of some of the best links courses in the world but are still jealous of these mountain courses.
Nice round.
Great video. I live in Utah also looks like a beautiful course. I usually play north of salt lake but I’m going to start play some more courses south of what I usually play.
I have to say I really like your swing. I just seems smooth and consistent. You get good distance and keep yourself safe. I am working on that right now I am a 12.9 handicap and am working on a more controlled smoother swing where I don’t try to kill it. Keep up the great work I really like the style of your videos and always enjoy watching. Playing sand hollow this year looking forward to that.
Great Video and I appreciate the life lesson metaphors
Great birdie on hole 8 and great round! I love the commentary and the way you talked about breaking a round down into 3 parts. I started golfing last year after years away from the game and I’m just trying to get better. I’m going to try to not have any expectations on the first few holes like you mentioned and to try to stay present on each shot and hole. Great content!
Im a fairly short hitter myself. Avg 220 drives. The mental approach you have has helped me lower my scores on course and Ive been able to drop my index a stroke in the last month.
Folks may be wondering what clubs you are playing. I’m interested to know
I need to play more golf!
That course looks awesome! Keep the videos coming, can’t have too much golf content!
beautiful course,, prices are high in north Florida what is the price there ? looking at 250 300 here dye valley tpc
The math isn’t mathing 😂
I'm a firm believer in having a club that can get you out of trouble, no matter what it is. I have a 20-year-old hybrid that can shape and control from anywhere, which saves me when needed
What is the rating and slope of the course.
I hit the ball about the distance that you do, however, my wedge game isn't as exact as yours! Excited that I found your channel. Utah is also so beautiful
Well done my bro
I’m really glad my algorithm led me to this video. I’m completely new to golf – just bought a membership and started playing (as much as I can) which ends up being 3-4 times a week after work like you’re doing. Thanks a million for the insight & thought process and a ton of tips that a new guy like myself needed to hear! Cheers from your Wyoming neighbor!
