Most golfers try to help the ball into the air.
That’s the problem.
In this week’s Monday Mulligan, we’re focusing on compression, and how to train it with a simple broken tee drill.
The Drill: Place a broken tee just in front of the golf ball.
Your goal: Strike the ball, then the tee.
If you can clip the tee after impact, you’re:
– Hitting down on the ball
– Controlling the low point
– Compressing the ball properly
Scooping or trying to lift the ball will:
– Move your low point too early
– Kill compression
– Lead to thin or weak contact
Let the loft of the club do the work.
You don’t lift the ball.
You strike it. ⛳
