Jordan Spieth’s Caddie Saves Rickie Fowler a Stroke – and Possibly a Spot in the PGA Championship

Rickie Fowler got saved this weekend… and not by his own caddie. At the Cadillac Championship at Doral, Fowler was in trouble on the 17th hole—deep rough, tricky lie, and then… he thought he accidentally moved his ball. That’s a penalty stroke. He’s literally about to call it on himself—when out of nowhere, Michael Greller steps in. Greller tells him: “You never grounded your club. The ball didn’t move.” No penalty. That one moment saved Fowler a stroke—and potentially FOUR spots on the leaderboard. Instead of dropping to T15, he stays at T11… which could be massive for world ranking points and PGA Championship qualification. Greller isn’t even his caddie. He works for Jordan Spieth. That’s golf at its best—honesty, awareness, and respect. And Fowler? He might owe Greller more than just a thank you.

  1. My aunt and uncle were friends with Ricky's dad and lived in the same community. Said Ricky was always the politeists, respectful kid. Everyone knew he was gonna be a great golfer.
