PULLMAN, Wash. (May 2, 2026) – For the second-straight day, freshman Dylan Boenning led Washington State after finishing his final round at 5-under, 208, during Saturday’s final round of stroke play at the 2026 West Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championships, played on the 6,621-yard, par-71 Green Valley Country Club.
As a team, the Cougars ended the 54-hole event at 7-over, 859, after a third-round score of 9-over, 293, finishing in ninth place. WSU had entered Saturday tied for sixth but could not climb the leaderboard. First-day leader Pepperdine could not withstand the charge of San Diego, which began the round trailing by two shots, fired an 8-under 276 to claim a four-shot final following stroke play. The top four teams, San Diego (-22), Pepperdine (-18), Augusta (-13) and Oregon State (-12) advance to Sunday’s match play event to crown the 2026 conference champion.
Boenning entered the day at 5-under and remained there after an even-par round of 71, which included five birdies. The 5-under, 208, is a 54-hole low for Boenning during his freshman campaign and ties him for fourth overall.
Senior Sam Renner entered the day at 2-under and got it to 4-under by the turn but found trouble on his back nine with a triple and two doubles, mixed in with three birdies as he finished the round at 4-over, 75, and his 54-hole tournament at 2-over, 215, tied for 23rd overall.
Sophomore Garrett Harrison entered the day at even-par and remained there through his first nine holes. On his back nine, four bogeys sandwiched around a birdie left him at 3-over for the round and tournament, tied for 30th overall.
Redshirt-junior Ben Borgida entered the day at 5-over and despite making five birdies, finished his round at 2-over, 73, putting him a 7-over for the 54 holes and tied for 46th overall.
Junior Ben Mulder, who was inserted into the lineup Saturday in place of Dylan Burcham, never got it going as he conclude his round at 8-over, 79. Mulder had a birdie on his front nine and his round was highlighted by an eagle-2 on the par-4 second.
The Cougars now wait for the NCAA Championship Selection Show, Wednesday, May 6, to determine their postseason fate.
