WESTON, Fla. — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Weston District are searching for a group of kids they said caused thousands of dollars in damages at a Weston golf course.
According to BSO spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis, deputies were called to the Weston Hills Golf Course, located at 2600 Country Club Way, at 7:17 p.m. on April 18 about a group of kids riding motorized bikes and a golf cart on the course.
“On scene, deputies met with a witness who stated the juveniles were seen stopping abruptly and skidding across the greens,” St. Louis said in a news release. “Video footage taken by the witness shows several juveniles on the golf course engaging in criminal mischief.”
According to St. Louis, four teens were spotted riding motorized bikes through the golf course, while several others were inside the golf cart, driving on the green.
Staff at the facility estimated that the group caused about $3,000 in damage to the golf course.
Anyone with information about the identities of those seen in the video is asked to call BSO Weston Detective Maria Ropain at 954-626-4005 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.
Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), or submit a tip online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
