  1. So .. if the PGA accepted the players money that they took from LIV? Is everyone going to say the PGA is a hypocrite for taking money from the Saudi money?

  2. Breaking news! Market determines prices for player performance. :PGA big mad.

  3. Lol what makes the PGA think the money belongs to them? You can dislike LIV all you want, but the PGA entitlement to player’s money is ridiculous here.

  4. Conspiracy theory: I bet Rolapp makes it nearly impossible for people to get back and at the same time secretly asks Trump to open a DOJ inquiry into their anti-competitive behavior. Then they have a “oh no, we have to let people back in” moment that doesn’t upset the current players.

  5. I dont see how the Tour could fine them finacially for leaving or suing without another law suit. What I do see as a possibility is on the of following a) liv players must sit out the duration of of their remaining liv contract but can reduce time by a) trading in an remaining exemptions they may have (i.e. Bryson from the US Open, b) paying the equivalent of 70th place earnings from last year’s sesson ending money list, c) possible to play while paying this back from new earnings if given sponsors exemptions or playing in majors; 2) require returning liv players to start with no status on any tour, regardless of remaining exemptions, and earn their road back, i.e mini tours, q-school, grinding.

I would like to see firmer fines and punishments around conduct on course, like club throwing, slamming, spitting, cursing, and hand gestures, as well as around cheating. Have these guys on probation and making an ass of themselves equals banishment. Maybe not to the NBA level where they cant complain about the Tour or conditions, but Sergio and Hatton and Reed need to be on a very tight leash if given any Tour tee times in the future.

  6. Brooks is already back, so the market for remaining returners probably starts with whatever happened to him

  7. I never understood how they planned to make money. Paying the players so much, but based on what revenue were these amounts based on?

  8. Immediately aloud back on tour but 50% of all on course earnings donated to charity for the next 3 seasons

  9. The sponsors will most likely dictate this. You might personally hate Cam Smith, but Titleist does not.

  10. Honestly, who gives a fuck. Make them pay or let them back in, whatever

  11. Most people would like LIV gone and all the best players back playing together. Instead more fucking games by idiots. Just fine them whatever amount and move on. So tired of all the fucking drama.

  12. There are only 3 players inside the top 100 that would be under consideration. Rahm, Bryson, Puig. Puig already plays on DP and will likely stay there. Rahm and Bryson will have to pay a $5MM fine. No big deal. They aren’t going to make them walk naked down the fairway at Waste Management with a bunch of drunkards yelling “Shame”. Everyone else would naturally go to DP or a regional tour. They will be fine. DJ & Cam Smith will play in majors. DJ will generally retire with a hot wife and bunch of money. Leishman will stay in Aus.

Another option, Bryson & Rahm just do YouTube together and play majors, because, when you just took $300MM from LIV, do you really want to grind it out at the Valspar Open and deal with all this bullshit that Rolapp wants them to put up with?

  13. What’s the difference between these guys and Reed? It should be a one year suspension from their last Liv event and then they get to play on whatever status they had before. Rahm would be exempt through 28. Bryson through 29. And I think that’s about it. Everyone else should have to play on past champion status if they have it. They should be ineligible to use career money list exemptions since they forfeited membership.

  14. The only thing I will miss with LIVs demise is good golf stars in Australia, otherwise LIV was a very poor golf product in my opinion, not even to mention the political aspects.

As an Australian I am hoping, however unlikely, that we can see some sort of elevation of prize money for the Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship to at least incentivise a few more of the big stars to visit. Thankfully a handful of bigger stars do come out for those events, but not many of the big American stars do. Whether that money comes from abroad via the DP and PGA Tours, or locally is a moot point.
