Rick Shiels gets an exclusive first look at the new McLaren Golf Series 3 irons – bringing McLaren’s performance-driven approach from Formula 1 into golf equipment.
With McLaren Racing stars like Lando Norris representing the brand globally, and CEO Zak Brown continuing to expand McLaren beyond motorsport, the Series 3 irons are another bold step for the company. Designed with input from major champion Justin Rose, these irons combine premium looks with serious on-course performance.
In this video, Rick tests the McLaren Series 3 irons to see if they deliver more than just the badge. From feel and forgiveness to distance and consistency, this is a full honest review of one of the most talked-about iron releases in golf.
Are McLaren genuinely changing the golf equipment game, or is this all about the name?

Welcome to H.I.T Golf Reviews – the home of honest, independent and trustworthy golf equipment reviews.
If you want straight-talking advice on drivers, irons, wedges, putters, golf balls and golf tech, you’re in the right place. Every review is based on proper testing, launch monitor data and real on-course experience – not marketing slides.
We test all the big names (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Titleist, Mizuno, Cobra and more) plus the direct-to-consumer brands you’re starting to hear about. New vs old, budget vs premium, “forgiving” vs “players” – we put them head-to-head so you can see what actually performs.
Our testing is built around launch monitor data (GCQuad) and real-world shots, but we always explain the numbers in normal-golfer language. No fluff, no hidden agendas – just whether a club will help your game or not.
Whether you’re:
buying your first proper set,
a mid-handicapper looking for more forgiveness, or
a low-handicap player chasing that perfect combo of feel and distance,
H.I.T is here to help you pick the right gear for your swing, not just the newest thing on the shelf.
Why H.I.T exists:
To cut through the hype.
To give golfers the truth.
To save you time, money and a few golf balls.
To make the game a bit easier – and more fun.

What I’d like to know is how are you handling the news of LIVs shutdown there Ricky boy? Looks like you back the wrong horse, but don’t worry, us PGA and DP loyalists we won’t forget!
Great review. McClaren cars aren't exactly cheap so why would their clubs be..? Their cars are spectaculalry good but not for everyone – Ferrair/ Lambos/ Astons etc. Looks like their golf products will follow suit. Of course they will perform and they will find more than enough customers to own and game them – among their established Brands
Hope they bring out a golf cart with wide wheels that goes 50mph ! 👀😎
$3000 for a set of irons is still ridiculous.
Bit late for an April fool? 😂 can’t say they look quality
So when is the giveaway?⛳🤞
I knew these would be a ridiculous price. Who is walking past titliest , ping , taylormade irons to buy them??
£140 for a headcover. Okay 😃
Further evidence Rick should be using game improvement irons.
I guessed around the three grand mark, but when you're looking at the neck-end of two grand for the full set top-end stuff from the "Big Three" then not outrageous. Yeah, deffo a clever pricing point.
Temu is gonna have a field day with these
The backs of those irons are going to be a bitch to keep clean.
Bruce McLaren would be turning in his grave if he saw the company/race team he founded was making ugly/overpriced golf cubs just so a bunch of rich a##holes could have matching car and clubs.
Looks like Rick has been hitting the new GLP 1s.
mental price, mclaren lost their marbles
Don't care if they are Mercedes golf. They look like something sold on Temu.
What happened to your LIV GOLF hat?
That’s Miura money, they have a lot to do to compete with them on looks and feel
I don't find the clubs particularly aesthetically pleasing in the bag but they do look nice at address. Definitely very Srixon-esque behind the ball.
BS! It depends on many factors such as load, exceleration and impact energy transfer. Don't buy these sell unless a fitter with no contracts can asess your needs.
They actually look quite good, but I am surprised you haven't hammered them on the price like you do most other brands? Why the change, and don't say it's because it's Mclaren? Very inconsistent.
Lofts are jacked. 44 deg pitching wedge is nuts
I want a set… My wife is gonna be pissed LOL
Yikes those are ugly and not worth the price
With the mesh on the back, it will make cleaning them tedious and time consuming!
So, rich people golf clubs. We don't need more overpriced golf clubs on the market we need more clubs regular people can afford.
Rick saying they’re appropriately priced when he hasn’t purchased a golf club in at least 15 years 😂
Can’t justify paying that price. Those are the type of clubs you play if you are being paid to play.
