So true story. About six months before he passed away, I got to golf with Payne Stewart. I was golfing in St. Thomas and Payne Stewart happened to be there on a USO Tour and completed a fourth to the threesome that my Navy buddies and I had. Your first shot was Payne’s first shot attempt across the cliffside to the green. 😂😂. If you beat The Devil’s Triangle , the three cliff side holes without losing a ball or a stroke, the clubhouse would award you a nice little Momento of the course. I have one of those Momentos a poster of one of the cliffside greens signed by Payne Stewart. This is a memory I will cherish for all of my years to come. Unfortunately, the Mahogany Run course is no longer there as it was wiped out by a hurricane and never recovered.😢.
