Just had the worst round I’ve had in years at a course where I shot 68 just last week.

Started on Hole 10, wheels fell off 5 holes in.

This game is brutal.

I sent a screen shot of my score card to a buddy last week because I shot an 89… For different reasons

Oh man, from the 18th to 2nd were you like “TIME TO RALLY BAYBEE”
    Then oof oof OOF.

  3. Brother, when I was scratch, playing my best golf, I shot a 108 at an easy easy course. You know how frustrating it can be on days like that.

Anyways, I had my wife with me, I was raging out, and she said “Maybe you’re just not as good as you think you are”. Absolutely hilarious in hindsight. We’ll have days like that, brother. On to the next one.

    don’t worry, you’ll shoot 66 next time

How does beta+ decay work and why does it seem like magic?

At what point in the round did you know you were in for a doozy?

Had one of those last year and it was on a bachelor trip with mostly guys I didn’t know. We had a draft and everything and I was taken first overall, never been more ashamed.

  8. How often do you practice and why isn’t it in your short game?

My average is 85 and I’ll pop over 110 now and then. Sometimes I can’t feel hands it seems, the whole timing is fucked. Usually happens when I do to much driving range I think it wears my body down and the forces at play that make my swing work are missing strength at some point in the process and my arms take over. Actually it happened last week, except the driver which had an above average day so my score wasn’t totally horrible.

You should play the lottery. Assuming a difficult course rating, your score is a whopping 5 to 6 sigma event. Meaning, significantly less than 0.01% likelihood.

That’s more extreme, and you’re better…but I shot 85 on a course in 30mph of wind and light rain. Then a few weeks later shot 95 on the same course on a perfect 72° clear skies no wind day. Golf makes no sense.

been there… when you lose your swing you have a choice of either keep swinging while searching for a feel. If you never find it, it can lead to big numbers. Or, you can tighten up the swing and play for a score (bunt drives, irons off the tee, punch irons, etc). Guessing you’re more of the former?

How did it feel to birdie 18 to break 90?

Thanks for posting this. I’m a 16 and just shot a 97 that I’m pretty frustrated with lol

what YouTube instructional did you watch before your round?

I had my worst round two weeks ago followed by my best round ever. I got back into the lab and worked on my swing after playing embarrassingly bad

My wife averages around 97 and shot an 89 last Saturday. She was ecstatic.

It sounds like driver was off the rails? Left or right miss?

I’m curious, as a +2, what do you do to get the driver back on track?

  19. WasntBuiltlnADay

Broke 100 (and 90 a few times) every round in 2026 until yesterday…

  20. Golf is a fickle bitch.  Get ‘em next time

  21. I shot an 89 last week, it was the first time I broke 100. I came here to celebrate with you, didn’t see the +2 part, now I feel bad about myself. I shot a 102 at the same course 2 days later so my 89 was a fluke I guess…maybe yours is too.

    Sigh.

Did it ever click again towards the end? What exactly was it in your swing that felt off?

I’m currently 2.2 and I just shot 95 on Saturday. Lost 4 balls, had 4 shanks, skied 5 drives, fatted 3 70 yard pitch shots 15 yards and had a 3 putt from 2 foot. If my chipping wasn’t good I’d have shot over 100.

Got a tee time tomorrow afternoon and for the first time ever I’m not looking forward to playing golf. I’ve no idea where my swing went but I was standing over the ball terrified as I didn’t know if I was going to shank, pull, fat or thin it.

In hindsight was there something you know caused it? Like mental/mood being off, even before the round? Or something else. Like not warming up or skipping some normal routine?
