    Coincidentally I have been working on a similar move to have my right elbow come back towards my belt buckle before releasing the club head. In fact I set up with my right elbow almost level with the buckle before swinging back, in order to 'program' my tiny golf brain to return to that position on the downswing. The improvement I've achieved between last fall and this season (Ontario, Canada) with my irons has been remarkable, in terms of consistency, ball flight (higher) and crispness of contact. I've just started working with my driver, and already feel the potential benefit although much practice lies ahead.
