Remembering Jamie - 19th Annual Golf Classic takes place at Newbridge Golf Club on May 30 - FOGOLF

Jamie Donohoe’s family organised a golf memorial in his memory on the first anniversary of his death. Held at Newbridge Golf Club, this event has grown into a key date in the calendar for many loyal supporters.

This year, the 19th Annual Jamie “Smiley” Donohoe Golf Classic will take place on Saturday, May 30 (June Bank Holiday weekend), and all funds raised will go to the Newbridge Autism Friendly Town Committee.

The mission of the Newbridge Autism Friendly Town Committee is to address the hidden barriers that autistic people in Newbridge face, with the goal of making the town a more inclusive and welcoming place for all.

A committee spokesperson said “We are very grateful to have the support of the Donohoe family through this year’s Jamie ‘Smiley’ Donohoe Golf Classic, an event that has supported many wonderful causes in our community. All funds will be used to support the autistic community in Newbridge.”

The charity is embarking on a three-year project to join the list of accredited Autism Friendly Towns. It is calling on all local businesses, public services and voluntary organisations to sign up for free training to become Autism Friendly Champions.”

A team of four for the golf classic costs €200 (includes lunch) while tee sponsorship costs €50.
