Kai Trump’s prediction of Bryson DeChambeau to win the Masters backfired spectacularly.

The LIV Golf star blew up in shocking fashion on Friday with a triple bogey on 18 to miss the cut. The 32-year-old was 3-over on the tee box with a shot to spare to make the weekend, but a blocked right drive, two attempts out of a bunker, a chip, and a two-putt left him going early.

It meant the man the president’s granddaughter had tipped to win has gone home early. It’s a stark contrast from last year when he played in the final group with Rory McIlroy.

Kai was at Augusta National on Wednesday, rubbing shoulders with golf and celebrity elite just outside the legendary clubhouse. The 18-year-old was seen chatting with her agent Brett Falkoff, whom she shares with DeChambeau, along with a number of other guests.

After catching up with DeChambeau, who was heading out for a practice round, she spoke exclusively to Mirror US Sports under the Big Oak.

When asked who her pick for this year’s major is, she replied, “I think Bryson.”

As for her grandpa, she was less certain. “I’m not sure,” she replied. “Haven’t asked.” When pressed on whether he’d be tuning in, she answered without hesitation. “Absolutely.”

Her chat with us came after Butch Harmon’s recent and startling broadside against the President. Tiger Woods’ former coach claimed the President is not welcome at Augusta National for the Masters.

“I think he is who he is. He’s full of himself,” scathed Harmon. “He’s the type of person that I don’t think fits the profile of an Augusta member.

“I’ve known him most of my whole life, because his father was a member of Winged Foot; what you see is what you get with him. And I don’t think his personality fits the membership at Augusta.

“And it doesn’t matter that he is president. I don’t think that has anything to do with it, because there’s been a lot of other presidents who played golf, and they’re not members. [Bill] Clinton, [Barack] Obama, they played golf.

“I think it’s just his personality doesn’t mix with that particular club. That’s as politically correct as I can be.”

Kai, on the other hand, was warmly welcomed and attended as a member’s guest – at least, that’s what her lanyard indicated. She also had a digital camera hanging around her neck, which is permitted only during practice days.

Fortunately for the teen, she left before the tournament days started and didn’t have to witness DeChambeau’s collapse in person.

“I leave tomorrow,” she explained on Wednesday. “I arrived Sunday and have been here since then.”

Kai, who is currently in high school, will be joining the University of Miami’s class of 2026 after committing to their women’s golf program. However, she revealed to Mirror US Sports that she still can’t play due to her wrist surgery, gesturing toward her arm with some disappointment.

Yet, when asked about her feelings toward Miami, she expressed that she’s “very excited.”

There was no Secret Service presence visible, and she had no hesitation greeting Mirror US Sports reporters and other VIP guests with handshakes.

She appeared notably at ease despite her grandfather’s ongoing tensions with Iran unfolding beyond the Augusta National grounds.
