Rick has been openly skeptical about L.A.B. Golf— but the Link is different. For the first time, L.A.B. have brought their zero-torque engineering to a traditional blade shape. No mallets, no gimmicks. Just a classic-looking Anser-style putter that’s been precision-engineered to stay square through the stroke.
So does it finally make a believer out of Rick? He takes it to the zen putting green to find out — and gives his most honest verdict yet on whether L.A.B. Golf lives up to the hype.
Welcome to H.I.T Golf Reviews – the home of honest, independent and trustworthy golf equipment reviews.
If you want straight-talking advice on drivers, irons, wedges, putters, golf balls and golf tech, you’re in the right place. Every review is based on proper testing, launch monitor data and real on-course experience – not marketing slides.
We test all the big names (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Titleist, Mizuno, Cobra and more) plus the direct-to-consumer brands you’re starting to hear about. New vs old, budget vs premium, “forgiving” vs “players” – we put them head-to-head so you can see what actually performs.
Our testing is built around launch monitor data (GCQuad) and real-world shots, but we always explain the numbers in normal-golfer language. No fluff, no hidden agendas – just whether a club will help your game or not.
Whether you’re:
buying your first proper set,
a mid-handicapper looking for more forgiveness, or
a low-handicap player chasing that perfect combo of feel and distance,
H.I.T is here to help you pick the right gear for your swing, not just the newest thing on the shelf.
Why H.I.T exists:
To cut through the hype.
To give golfers the truth.
To save you time, money and a few golf balls.
To make the game a bit easier – and more fun.

Wow fist 10 views really??
I just picked up my df3i like 25 minutes ago. Cant wait to try it out
0 torque blade is much more palatable, I had trouble looking down at the df3 and oz1
Marketing BS!!!! If they were so great every pro would be using them. I call BULLCRAP!!!!!! Next video please.
Hey Rick! Great video. Was wondering if you have the Diamana putter shaft in both 2.1 and 2.2 putters? I’ve never used a graphite shaft in a putter and was wondering how the feel is compared to a steel shaft? Thank you kindly. Kevin R.
Game it!
I'd love to see putting statistics across all weekend warriors/amateurs who have bought a LAB putter. Bet it's not a stroke lower!
that is you, not the putter!
Well I mean you spent over $2,000 for that ping putter. Might as well spend another $600 for the lab 😂
Looks an awful lot like a 1960's Ping putter.
Would like to see you play a round with this putter. Take your current putter and this one. Take one shot with each putter for each location and alternate which putter you use first.
I don’t understand how $600 is to much for a putter but we have gotten to where $650 is the norm for drivers. Where did drive for show and putt for dough motto go? The putter is the most used club in the bag.
I noticed FP ditched his Doorstop LAB for this. So, it has that going for it, which is nice!
It’s not the putter…it’s You!
Put it in the bag!
I mean if both feel good, and offer same amount of accuracy, why would you choose 2.1 over 2.2? I would say 2.2. No reason to sacrifice forgiveness for nothing. Unless you like the look of 2.1 more.
Hard to argue with the results!
And that shaft is £250 extra.
I have the df3 really like it. But that 2.2 looks gorgeous and love the look the milled face. Definitely got to give it a try rick
If it works it's cheap.
blame the putter for a putt left short but dead center…sure hahahha
Would put my house on you picking the wide. Bit similar to the old Evenroll
I’d say that Ping and the Anser was the last big putter revolution.
I'm going to be the minority who 100% doesn't buy into zero torque, I have tested 4 ZT putters, antidote, Spider , DF3 and Link… they're all the same anything that takes away the FEEL of torque is going to at some point make you a poor putter. You need some level of torque to have feel in putting. When I practice with it it's awesome I can make a lot of putts sure but when you get into it on pressure situation and tournaments it's nothing like other putters you struggle immensely with control and feel and eventually you will hate ZT because you will want to FEEL like you have some control. There's a reason most pros don't use these there is very few who use them and arguably the people who do have been some of the worst putters or struggled with putting in the career you won't see a great putter say "hmm I'm going to ditch my spider it Scotty for a LAB"
BUT that being said if you don't care about being a great putter and just play on the weekends and never practice then SURE it will make you marginally better but it's not really the solution and arguably it's just become an expensive status symbol but I don't buy it at all as MUCH as I want to love it and use one I hate it it's like putting but with a condom honestly
£600 🤯🤯
Those putters are actually $849 with those shafts. L.A.B. is overpriced and overhyped in my opinion. Never buy a putter because of the brand, try as many as possible, find one that suits how you want it to look and feel. You'll know when you find.
Will you try the Bettinardi antidote?
One year ago you reviewed EVNROLL’s version of this. Compare the two, because I just bought the EVNROLL Z2S bc I didn’t want to wait on the 2.2.
🤣 Comedy gold!
Would be fun to see these compared to the new Vice Zero Twist models. Is the price difference worth it?
Sorry Rick, but I think you've worn a groove in that putting green. A number of the putts went left then right and left again correcting to the hole. Would be good to see the test to one of the other holes. Love your work but even pros don't sink that percentage of 13 foot putts
Need to be tested on a golf course IMO
Yawn… zero torque is boring. Its not a game changer. Spider is a bigger game changer…. finding what works for you is the biggest game changer. RS was a bang average outter until he found that PLD putter. I out best with a 100% torque putter, a heel shafted mallet
You have got to take this on the course. It seems unreal on the putt view but we need to see it out on the course to see if it really is so reliable.
Odyssey double wide
600 quid and the headcover dont even stay on. Nice.
Im amazed! My putter never rolls it straight, usually figure 8's
Not a single reference to buying 599# worth of lessons
