After breaking his driver by smashing it off the tee box on the 2nd hole at Augusta National, a seething Sergio Garcia delivers one of the greatest post-round press conferences in the history of golf, “It makes it very easy, you just have to hit 3-wood all the time.”

  5. The decline of Sergio is similar in some ways to Tiger except for the substance abuse. Sad because he had such charisma and popularity in his early playing days.

For what it may be worth from a golfing comedy perspective, Garcia smashing his driver on the 2nd hole, receiving an official warning two holes later, briefly carrying Jon Rahm's bag, and then giving this disdainful post-round interview with his shades still on has to be considered one of the great highlights of the 2026 Masters.
    Garcia clearly has enough money in the bank to not give a toss about any post-round questions any reporter may ever ask him, or if he ever wins another golf tournament in his life, and this post-round interview more or less confirms that's where his mindset appears to be.
    But one can't win championships, let alone majors, with that kind of thinking.

  9. Love this… Sergio gets to play golf for a living and is worth $70M-$100M and is 46 yrs old — his life will be fine wether he wins another major or not; or even plays in one again or not… and more importantly whether he answers less than intelligent media questions or not…

    These answers are authentic and spot-on… I like it because it shows he's human and most importantly it would have been super easy to throw out all kinds of bland cliched dribble. Seriously – you could neter a prompt into AI and get the normal cliches spit back out and that would have no value or connection to the human… this though is different, good stuff. Same with Scottie's and Rory's comments after Sat rounds that "enflamed" the internet… who cares, they're pissed about a bad round — what do you want them say – same old cliched crap?

    The cliche questions and the cliche answers both pre and post sporting events are so boring… this is not that.

  19. Here's hoping they bring Garcia back again next year so we can watch him shank a few more shots, smash a couple more clubs, and give more post-round interviews like this one.
    Augusta and the Masters needs a serious injection of comedy and entertainment anyway.
    And Garcia seems to fit that bill perfectly.

  26. He's a prick and an immature poor sport that can't carry his own balls in competition. He spit in a cup years ago. He should be banned from all majors and ever returning to the tour.

  29. He's treating the reporters and the vast majority of the golfing fraternity with contempt. No moral compass whatsoever. Somewhere down the line he will look back on this and cringe..

  31. The tried to fill the film with as many big cast actors to try to hide the weak story. Film about the weather… God this is gonna be awful. Of all the amazing stories they could have chose to film about.. and they pick about if it's too windy or not..
