Harry Diamond earned a tidy sum for his role in the golfer’s second Masters triumph on Sunday

Rory McIlroy didn’t just share his second Masters victory with his family on Sunday evening—he also celebrated the achievement with his lifelong best mate.
McIlroy has had Harry Diamond carrying his clubs since 2017, and together they’ve enjoyed numerous memorable moments on the course.
Last year’s Masters marked the first major title they claimed as a team, making the triumph particularly special for the Holywood-born golfer.
“I’ve known Harry since I was seven years old,” McIlroy said, struggling to hold back his emotions during his post-round press conference following the 2025 Masters victory.
He continued: “I met him on the putting green at Holywood Golf Club. We’ve had so many good times together. He’s been like a big brother to me throughout my life.
“To be able to share this with him after all the close calls we’ve had, and all the [nonsense] he’s had to take from people who don’t know anything about the game. This one is just as much his as it is mine.
“He’s a massive part of what I do, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to share it with.”
McIlroy was referring to the flak Diamond received during McIlroy’s lengthy drought without a fifth major championship, reports the Irish Mirror.
However, the duo have silenced their critics, combining for two Masters crowns, and along the way, Diamond has earned himself a considerable fortune.
Caddies generally receive 10% of their player’s prize money in professional golf, though McIlroy could well reward Diamond with a more generous share. McIlroy collected £3.3 million ($4.5m) for winning the first major of the year, meaning Diamond will probably pocket at least £330,000 for his work.
Since Diamond took on the role as his caddie, six-time major champion McIlroy has accumulated well over €100 million in prize money and bonuses, suggesting Diamond’s earnings from the position are likely comfortably above €10 million.
Diamond was himself a talented amateur golfer, demonstrated by his triumph in the 2012 West of Ireland Championship, one of Irish amateur golf’s most esteemed competitions.
However, the Belfast native maintains an extremely low profile and has avoided speaking with the media while working alongside his closest friend. Diamond permanently assumed the position from JP Fitzgerald, who was by McIlroy’s side for four championship victories.
McIlroy remarked this week: “I think as an only child… he was like the big brother I never had, you know?
“And I think that’s what makes it so special.”
