Hey everyone,

I got my playing license / course certificate about two years ago and played about once every two weeks for roughly a year after that in Germany. My handicap was 54 at the time. Last year I had to take a break.

Now I want to get back into golf regularly and long-term. At the moment, I’m using a Wilson X31 golf set (https://mygolfblog.de/wilson-x31/)

My question is: Would it make sense in my situation to buy a new set and get fitted, or should I keep playing my current set for now?

If a new set does make sense, what should I pay attention to?

I’m mainly wondering:

\- Is a fitting already worth it, or should I first play a bit more with my current clubs?

\- Would a half set or a full set make more sense?

\- What kind of budget should I expect?

\- What should I look for when buying/fitting clubs if I want to play regularly again?

Any advice, personal experience, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this is a silly question. Could someone educate me on what a player certificate is? Is this a German National thing or do you have to get it for your local course?
