How well do you compress the ball?

I have been obsessing over trying to compress the ball more recently after deciding I really wanted to improve my ball striking (check my other videos for training drills on how to do it)
.
If you look at how any elite level ball striker contacts the ball with an iron you will always see them with the shaft ahead of the ball as they are hitting the ball into the ground and de-lofting the club face
.
A lot of amateurs and especially beginners will find themselves trying to add to much loft to their shots usually by getting to flicky with their wrists which will likely lead to an inconsistent strike mainly seeing fat shots
.
Even if you think that you strike the ball well there is a chance that you could still strike it even better and more consistent if you look at compressing it better
.
As an example, a pro might have about 15° launch angle with a 7 iron using their clubs with about 34 degrees of loft as average (unless your Bryson)
And the average amateur as from what I see at work when fitting players is more times than not over 20° and even some times up to 25° even with lofts on the 7 iron of around 27° – which is a crazy difference!

If you can aim for under 20° then your on a pretty good track
.
It doesn’t actually matter how you get there to those numbers, but having a set up like I showed in the video will make it 10x easier
.
You could still however set up like the beginner set up but come through impact like the pro, or even the opposite way around so it isn’t always as you see it at set up
.
Being able to compress the ball well is one of the main things you need to do to strike the ball well
