I just can't get my head to stop popping up at impact if I try to force it down I hit it super fat and have actually tweaked my QL trying to fix this. My feel is weight slightly on toes then during the swing have the weight on the heels. Also hands sooo high on follow through. What are you seeing wrong and what else can I do to fix this. Shots are mostly thin and hooks starting right or center barely ever left.

I know you don’t want to hear this so I’ll whisper…..(early extension)

  2. Break the wall more, work on tempo and takeaway. Teach yourself a punch shot as well that will help exaggerate finishing low.

The head issue is something I have struggled with also, and I actually discovered that the root problem was not picking my head up before impact, but my posture collapsing earlier in the swing.

When you transition to the down swing, your knees bend a lot and you crouch lower than you are at address. So then to get the club head back on target at impact, you fire your legs and stand up, causing you to extend early and cast at the ball.

One thing that helped me that did not involve drills and training aids, was simply swinging slower. Try to swing at 70% or 80% speed. I realized that my practice swings and some of the drills look good, but when I went to really “try” to hit the ball, I was doing some things to try to add power that were hurting my swing.
