L.A.B. LINK 2.1 vs DF3: Is the new blade actually better?

L.A.B. Golf recently released the LINK putters, so golfers are wondering how they compare to L.A.B. Golf’s other popular offerings.

In this video, I compare the L.A.B. LINK 2.1 vs DF3 putters to answer a simple question: Is the new blade actually better or does the DF3 mallet still offer something the LINK can’t replace?

Both the LINK 2.1 and DF3 use L.A.B.’s lie-angle balance (zero torque) technology, designed to help the face stay square to your stroke path and get putts started on line more consistently. But once you get them on the green, they don’t feel—or perform—the same.

After rolling putts with both, the differences become clear, and I want you to know:
• Which one is easier to aim
• Which one offers more precision and touch
• Which one helps on short putts vs longer lag putts
• And whether switching is actually worth it

If you’re thinking about trying a L.A.B. putter—or deciding between the DF3 and LINK 2.1—this should help you understand which one fits your game.

  1. You continue to produce some of the best and most informative club videos and always seem to get them out ahead of others. I've been a DF3 user for a while now and am currently going back and forth with the Bettinardi Antidote SB3 putter as well. That said, I've used a Newport 2 and a Bettinardi BB-1W before pretty extensively, so these new Link 2.1 and 2.2 offerings are pretty interesting. Really liking the SB3 so far overall, but on those 3-5 foot knee knockers I have to admit that I'd definitely prefer my DF3 over anything else in existence.

  2. Randomly came up on your video. I am a Lab Oz owner and have been interested in the Link 2.1 because I like blades better. Just wanted to say you really articulate your words well and it's obvious you know what you're talking about by doing the research and being experienced with equipment technology. So many other Youtube reviewers really are there to just collect clicks by showing the next best thing but they don't explain technical aspects as well as you did. Good job, keep it up.
