Enniskillen Golf Club has marked its 130th anniversary with its annual Captains’ Drive In.

The event took place on Saturday, March 14, and launched the beginning of the club’s new season.

The milestone was celebrated by members, family, and friends, alongside captain Jimmy Mohan, lady captain Tanya Cathcart, and junior captain Charlie Cairns.

Andrew Truesdale, vice-captain, welcomed attendees to the drive-in and offered words of encouragement to the incoming 2026 captains.

Mr Truesdale said: “For well over a century, Enniskillen Golf Club has been shaped by its members and by volunteers who keep things running, by the players who bring their passion to the course and by the Captains who lead with dedication and a love for the game and that tradition continues today”.

The weather stayed dry for the occasion, and 81 players took part in a scramble competition before returning to the clubhouse for refreshments.

The winning team, announced by match and handicap convenor Stevie Gault, included Roy Kempton, Pat Delaney, Ann Cairns, and Davy Coalter with a score of 46.4.

They acknowledged that the club could not operate without the time and effort of its volunteers, whether on the course or in the clubhouse.

The ongoing refurbishment of the bar has required extra support from the bar and house convenor, staff, and volunteers to keep the club running smoothly.

A draw held during the event awarded Helena Tisdall a reserved car park space for the year.

Members were also reminded that the club’s annual fantasy golf course improvement fundraiser is now open.
