Wilson’s $199 zero torque putters: How good are they?

Wilson has entered one of the fastest-growing categories in golf equipment with the release of its Infinite Zero Torque putters, and the price immediately caught my attention: $199.

Zero torque or lie-angle-balanced putters have become increasingly popular because they are designed to reduce face rotation and help golfers keep the putter face square throughout the stroke. Many of the most well-known models in this category cost $400 or more, so Wilson bringing the concept to market at $199 raises an obvious question.

How good are they?

In this video, I take a close look at Wilson’s two new models — The 606 and Lakeview — and explain the technology behind them. If you’ve been curious about zero torque putters, lie-angle-balanced designs, or you’re simply looking for a new mallet putter that offers stability and value, these are worth learning about.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried a zero-torque putter before and what you think of the concept.

  1. Hey David, great review on Wilson's new lineup of ZT putters. I took a guess that when they revamped their staff model, irons that I wouldn't be surprised if Wilson ended up in the ZT market. Lo and behold, I was right! My question to you is, Wilson has two categories of putter lineup with their Infinite line, which seems to be their more affordable family of putters, and their Staff Model line, which is their more premium family. With the release of the infinite ZT putters, do you see Wilson also trying to make a more premium ZT option with their Staff Model family ? Very curious to get your feedback on this as I have owned an Infinte Buckingham and currently own a Saff model TM-22. I currently game a TM Spider ZT but have been looking to get into a milled face ZT putter for the feel that I miss from my previous Wilson putters. Is the new Infinite ZT line worth the shot, or should I hold out on the chance Wilson drops a Staff Model ZT family?
