Every now and then I work on a build that really puts things into perspective for me. This is one of them.
Guy calls us about a year back wanting a commercial sim in his office space. Nothing out of the ordinary, until you get to the actually site and install the thing just to learn the CEO wanted a fun toy. He’s happy, we’re happy, wish it was my office.
Anyway, the fun details: SimBooth 3 with IDRA II. Favorite screen on the market.
One of those installs that make you want to strangle the contractor. Put a large duct in the back of the room 2 feet lower than we agreed on. Lost a couple of feet on the back end of the sim. Elevator was also non functional. (This is SUCH a fun grouping of parts to carry up stairs).
I was also able to fit a 15’ roll of turf up a staircase/hall I definitely shouldn’t have been able to…

No one really seems to talk about the IDRA II LM. One of my local golf courses runs the SimBooth/IDRA setup and I think it’s as good as it gets.
Why don’t people talk about the IDRA?
How much does something like this setup typically run? I’m new to this sub and looking to convert my garage into a sim build.
I worked at a medical school, and the vice dean used to call me out for “meetings” every week on the course. This would have been epic, I’m sure we would have needed daily meetings.
Is that the projector or launch monitor mounted on the enclosure? Looks quite far forward of the hitting area. Is that in danger with flop shots or even high lofted wedges?
is that enclosure for sale online?
Looks great, but I would hate that spot light location.
Not jealous, I have my own sim in my shop at my house. Hard to beat that!
