If he's talking from that sense or angle, I also think African football has been sidelined and mostly unappreciated like other major competition and that really go a long way with the intentions of FAIR PLAY that FIFA parade to the world. Racism and Superiority might actually play a long way. FiFA still has a long way to go and saying something is different from doing something.

The AFCON is not prestigious.
But the African Cup of nations isn't a top tournament. I'm a Rangers fan from Scotland and of someone says Scottish football is a poor league, I may feel bad about that but its still true. You can't lie about things simply to avoid saying something that people don't like.

The african cup should not be in the same year as the world cup is. African players will be tired in the wc and can not show their whole potential. The most succesful african team in wc was morocco in qatar. Winter wc when the players had a year between the two tournaments.
