GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The FGCU women’s golf team will travel to Gainesville, Florida to compete in the Gators Invitational on March 6-8 at Mark Bostick Golf Course. The Eagles will be represented by Leonie Wulfers, Amelie Alcantara, Sydney Deal, Lousiane Gauthier and Gia Culler-Guerra.

The Gators Invitational will take place at Mark Bostick Golf Course, which is a par 70, 6,002-yard layout featuring 18 holes. Teams participating in the tournament include Campbell, Clemson, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, No. 7 Florida (host), Georgia Southern, Miami, Michigan, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 25 Oklahoma, South Alabama, South Florida and Virginia.

The last time out for the Eagles was at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla., where FGCU finished second overall at 29-over as a team. Leonie Wulfers delivered a standout performance, capturing the individual championship at 3-under (213) for her first collegiate victory. The senior led the field with 15 birdies, tied for the ninth-fewest bogeys and finished tied for the fewest double-plus bogeys across the tournament.

Amelie Alcantara continued her strong play with a tie for third place, giving FGCU two golfers inside the top five. Sydney Deal finished tied for 20th in the field. Wulfers closed the tournament with a final-round 73 (+1), navigating a steady back nine after mixing birdies and bogeys early to maintain her lead. Alcantara posted a final-round 71 (-1), one of the team’s best scores of the day, highlighted by timely birdies that helped her climb into a tie for third. Deal carded a 77 (+5) in the final round, collecting key pars down the stretch to secure her top-20 finish.

As a team, the Eagles showed consistency throughout the lineup, finishing with the third-most birdies in the field (30) and the fourth-most pars (159). FGCU also led the tournament with the fewest bogeys and tied for the fewest double-plus bogeys, reinforcing a steady approach that kept the Eagles firmly in contention through all three rounds.

For Gia Culler-Guerra, the Gators Invitational marks her first appearance of the spring season. Her last tournament came at the Pat Bradley Invitational during the fall, where she finished 26th at 10-over.

Following the Gators Invitational, the Eagles will travel west to compete in the Bell Bank Pay It Forward Collegiate on March 23-24 in Wigwam, Ariz.
