20% of all prize money Brooks wins go to support something like junior golf or whatever for the amount of time he was gone from the pga tour. Penalties don’t matter bc these guys are getting paid so much, so tax them a bit, so there is some bite to the penalty.
MSG I like your ideas of him playing on smaller events, that would be awesome.
PGA leadership wants him begging on his knees. And they want him to take it over and over again. The people at the top are the problem with the PGA.
suspension, pay a fine that goes toward ownership stake in the tour after x amount of years if they stay
It’s like two hogs fighting over a turnip who cares😂😂😂😂
If the PGA is smart they will allow him back, no strings attached. If any PGA tour players speak ill of the return or process then they get suspended indefinitely. If you are at war with another tour you need to be aggressive especially in the early days of the new tour. LIV showed that the PGA is not exclusive, other tours can take your business.
Suppose you let the top 3 LIV guys back and the top 10 PGA guys go to LIV, is that good for the PGA fans? the TOUR?
Who cares.
Q school or Korn Ferry. Re-entry fee = to all of the of the entry fees he/sponsors would have have paid if he had played in the required number of events + all the player union dues + $1,000,000 cash for PGA brand damage recovery. Plus he has to play the St. Jude and donate 1/2 of those earnings to child cancer research. Plus, appear in PGA ads for free for 2 years. At a minimum. The traitors cannot come back with a slap on the wrist. It has to be cheap enough though to kill LIV.
Brooks is one of the few LIV players I’d genuinely want to watch back on the PGA Tour. I agree with MSG’s take that the Tour should have some say in where Brooks plays to maximize value.
I’m less hung up on rules than accountability. LIV players should have to publicly apologize to the Tour and its fans. The arrogance can be forgiven, but let’s not forget their actions were an attempt to undermine and dismantle a system the PGA Tour built over decades.
Spot on MSG! Create a policy, once LIV golfers are released from their LIV contract and apply for reinstatement, the golfer is provisionally reinstated. The golfer may participate in PGA events, with the exception of Majors (unless otherwise eligible) and Signature Events for one year. After a one year ban, the golfer is eligible for all PGA tour events (including Majors) if their play qualifies them to participate in said events. This not only strengthens the PGA, but helps minimize the rifts of the last few years, and helps us get back to talking about the PGA product, and not all these distractions. The only issue that I see as complicated is equity vs. non-equity for these guys that left. That might take more time to figure out.
Your plan is pretty good. But if Phil (or Greg Norman) is invited back the Tour loses all credibility. They weren’t disrupters, they were flame throwers. They didn’t want to improve the Tour, they wanted to see it burn on their way out. Brooks just quietly opted for the alternative. So there has to be a distinction.
The USGA needs to allow these people to come back as soon as they want. Just like you stated, the competition made the PGA better. Besides that, I know that the people would watch more because 10 out of the top 30 players left for the live tour they should welcome them back and actually apologize to them for not providing a platform that was better
Also, from what I understand with Bryson is that they are are making him pay a fine of somewhere like a million dollars.
If they want Bryson back they let Brooks and Wesley Bryan back in, if they don’t care about Bryson they enforce the one year suspension. It would be a big blow to LIV if they lift the suspensions, without the big signing bonuses everyone except probably Mickelson, Garcia, and DJ will leave.
Brooks needs to qualify for his PGA Tour Card. If he qualifies he’s in!
Since the player board would have approved the existing 48 inch maximum club length (no change in the then existing rules for the PGA Tour), but the PGA Tour management overrode their right to govern the tour and went with the new optional 46 inch limit, it would be great if the new player board honored the old player board's wishes and went back to the 48 inch maximum club length limit. If affects so few players that it isn't unreasonable. I spent months getting used to a 47 inch driver, but then could use my natural swing with no swing adjustments and hit the ball straight without effort. I couldn't hit is farther, but my average distance was farther due to more high quality strikes. It also protected my aging back. This change back wouldn't directly affect me, at least at this point, but it could help possibly reverse a stupid decision by a group of amateurs overly influenced by old clubs who can't or won't expand their tracks. At this point I am back to contorting my swing with a 46 inch driver.
Letting players use pictures and videos of themselves when they are in a PGA event (without charge) would help promote the tour. In the last couple of years the Tour has been its own worst enemy. Different issue: I can watch YouTube golfers any time I can arrange inn my schedule. Why can't I watch a PGA Tour event after the fact? They are losing me as a viewer to YouTube golfers.
If they make it easy to come back, then it will also be easy to leave for a couple of years for free money, knowing they can always come back.
Let them try out for the Korn Ferry tour and work their way up if they can.
If they make it back, they only have to pay the PGA Tour 10% of all they got through LIV.
Nah. You are overestimating the impact of TODAY’S Brooks Koepka.
Brooks Koepka has never been a box office personality lol not sure if ticket sales will boost because of him
Great point Brooks helped make the PGA Tour better indirectly. It's sad but true!
There was a pga tour before Brooks and there will be one after. The tour doesn’t need him
Make him go through a school and earn his card like any other player who wants to play on tour.
The PGA tour should allow/invite LIV players to be in up to 5 PGA tournaments a year if they qualify based on rankings, winning majors, past PGA wins, other metrics for the young guys like McKibbon, Surat, Ballester, etc….and hopefully LIv could open their events to up to two teams PGA players as well…make it great for the fans…
i didn't know wesley was good enough to play on tour anymore is he ?
All of those players violated their contracts and left the PGA tour, which does over $1 billion annually and charity work and has worked to write the wrongs of civil rights violations over history, for a country that’s a terrorist nation with the worst human rights abusing record in history.
If any of them are let back, it should only be the ones who never badmouth the PGA tour. And they should be forced to donate at least 1/2 of the money that they made from LIV and at least 25% of all future PGA Tour earnings in the form of a foundation or direct donations to civil rights organizations and charities.
Those who badmouth the tour should never be let back. PERIOD. END OF STORY.
It’s hilarious, almost everybody thought the PGA tour would go extinct and LIV would be the future. I got in so many arguments with clowns who actually believe that nonsense.
It’s sad that you think they should go completely unpunished when they literally aren’t being missed at all.
Brooks should have to go play Q school and get his card again no exceptions.
brooks never gonna win again so
kcufhimI never watched a LIV event and I will never watch any of the players who left the PGA for LIV.
Koepka's temper tantrums on some of his LIV tournaments don't really set a good example for the PGA tour. Despite his <*ban*>, Wesley hasn't done anything to bring the PGA into disrepute, and hasn't bad mouthed the PGA at all. I hope we see ONE set of rules for reunification, not many, based on previous performances and actions.
I disagree with the “immediate reinstatement” for anyone who wants to come back. There are players on LIV who would struggle to keep their cards. Maybe the top 10 get exemptions? Others have to qualify through Monday qualifying days. People also lose sight of the fact that bringing them back bumps other players out. There’s only room for so many players in a given tournament. Guys that were loyal and have busted their ass to get their cards. “Oh, sorry! LIV guys coming back so back the Korn Ferry tour with you!” That would suck.
Let BROOKS play now!!! TO whose benefit is punishing Brooks now?
BK is cooked. He left LIV as he was getting his ass kicked.
Make him play in the Puerto Rico Open in march thats a good one
Isn't there already a policy of a one year suspension for players on the LIV? If that's the case, enforce it and let him back in for the 27 season.
Didn’t have to wait to long.
Brooks Koepka had major injury issues when LIV came available. He took the LIV money as an insurance policy. He never fit with LIV and put any energy into what LIV was about. His game is actually a mess, so now he wants back to PGA as he needs world ranking points fast and to fix his game to maintain that status. He's lucky he won the 2023 PGA as he has 5 years of exemptions. If he stayed on LIV, his chances of playing in majors would become harder to maintain in 3-5 years. So, get back to PGA. Bottom line is all the top players are about their own survival. No surprise.
Looks like you were right on the money with brooks
welp we have our answer now
The whole argument is stupid . Who cares anymore . YouTube golf content more entertaining than professional golf anymore . I’d rather watch Bob does sports , Bryan bros and YouTube golf anymore
PGA tour is corrupt . Brooks and Wesley should be reinstated immediately unmolested, not a fan of liv. it needed to happen to break the corruption
