Kai Trump will be sidelined from her burgeoning golf career as she recovers from a surgery to address pain in her golf swing.
Trump, a senior at the Benjamin School and the eldest grandchild of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, announced she underwent surgery on Wednesday, Jan. 7 to address injuries to her left wrist.

In a post to her personal Instagram, Trump said the procedure, which was conducted in Pennsylvania, addressed the stabilizing tissues of her ECU tendon and damage to her triangular fibrocartilage complex.
Trump, a University of Miami women’s golf signee in the Class of 2026, said she will undergo rehab over the coming months in an attempt to play golf “pain free” again.
Trump made her LPGA debut at The Annika in November 2025 on a sponsor’s exemption. She missed the cut at 18-over but played better than many expected given her amateur status and the prominence of the event.
As a varsity golfer, Trump played for the Benjamin School girls golf team in several events last fall. She ultimately did not play in the Bucs’ postseason tournaments while pursuing the LPGA opportunity. She was named second team All-County for small school girls golfers by The Palm Beach Post in December.
