The Charleston area was well represented at the Carolinas PGA Section’s 2025 Special Awards Feb. 15 in Greensboro, N.C., with four PGA professionals among the honorees.
Greg Wood of the Links at Stono Ferry was recognized as the Golf Executive of the Year.
Dylan Thew of Kiawah Island Club’s Cassique course received the Bill Strausbaugh Award for day-to-day efforts mentoring PGA Professionals and impacting their career.
Alec Brown of Yeamans Hall Club was named the CPGA Assistant Professional of the Year.
Perry Green of Wescott Golf Club was honored with the Community Impact Award.
CALGA at Wild Dunes
Lori Irizarry of Charleston Municipal won field low gross honors with a score of 82 and Bonnie Foulois of Wescott was field low net winner in the Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association match played Feb. 17 at the Harbor Course at Wild Dunes Resort.

Penn State Blue-White Classic
The 2026 Penn State Blue-White Classic South golf tournament to benefit Penn State Student Scholarship Fund will be played March 21 at Wescott Plantation. The tournament is hosted by alumni chapters from Charleston, Charlotte, Triangle, Aiken-Augusta and Myrtle Beach.
