I see it too much. A coworker I play with is awful out of greenside bunkers and putts out of one at least once during our weekly round

I don’t hate it.
Also a bit of an odd kiddie pool green side bunker. Especially for a tournament.

I have a dude that will hit putter on a short par 3 that’s down hill.
One of us.

Brings me back to the goat ranch I grew up on. Traps had virtually no lips, rock hard sand. We’d always struggle out of them until one of us tried this. True game changer back in the mid 90s

I do this all the time if there’s no lip on the bunker. Better results than chunking or blading it 😂

I remember seeing Ryan Palmer do this out of a bunker on the 18th green at caves valley in 2021. putting out of a bunker with a huge purse on the line like the BMW is ballsy!

Yes I do, because I do this constantly.
If you are playing shitty poorly maintained bunkers without deep lips this is 100% the move to do 100% of the time.
Kurkil
Must have recently rained there cuz no way my ball does that through sand

Not on tour but if putting out of a trap is an option, it’s always a good one.
Queen-Blunder
Guess I would walk all the way across the bunker if I didn’t have to rake my own foot prints.
ponythemouser
That was an inch away from holing out.

I have a friend who does this all the time lol. surprisingly, it works most of the time. Sometimes he launches it to another bunker or back to his feet so 🤷♂️
