Brendan! didn’t make it down to Florida after all, leaving Andy and PJ to roam around the SoFi Dome by themselves for Monday’s Ballfrogs match. Andy shares plenty of takeaways from his in-person experience, leading to a wider conversation regarding the future of TGL. What’s next for the screen golf league after the ESPN TV deal expires? How can the in-person experience level up? Is there a risk of players leaving after the second season wraps up? The two then move on to the Schedule for the Week and first discuss the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches. The Florida Swing begins this week and Andy has his list of 5 Guys to Monitor, including a player returning on a major medical and Brooks Koepka once again playing his hometown event. Everybody makes a One-and-Done pick despite a weak field after many top players withdrew from the event following the Genesis Invitational. Andy tosses out a Game Within the Game for the South African Open, which he also names as his event of the week! It’s a quick wrap -up at the end, as the only big news is a very special birthday for a podcast favorite!

My biggest issue outside of the announcing group is they keep using most the space around the green. Bring the water right up to the fringe on a few of the holes.
TGL is endemic of the 1% decision making in golf…

TGL is a microcosm of the PGA fan base problem. They're losing more of the youthful fans to TY and LIV everyday.
And let's be honest…if PIF owned this version of TGL you guys would be ripping it apart even worse.
the svp intro is stupid, the celebrity interviews are even stupider, they need to make more wacky holes to force them to hit cool shots because they just fall back to tour style golf taking no risks
TGL started a SIM golf league and the quality of the launch monitor was their lowest priority. And they bored us to death with DJ Khaled interviews.

The way you describe the in-person experience reminds me a lot of minor baseball games. They need to capture the family/kid aspect of it. Nobody is ever going to be die hard fans probably, but if you make the experience and energy high energy. Get us some "between innings" goofy games or something for the kids
If you truly love golf you do not want tgl to work. That garbage isn't golf and further moves the game toward Caddyshack II level stupidity…. I'm neither old nor affluent, btw.
SA open needs to be cancelled. Not having the celebrated former Olympian Jaco van Zyl as a sponsors invite is a disgrace

The problem with TGL is the problem with the American Golf Establishment – it’s over-corporatized and no one talks enough about that being a big issue.
And if you (SGS) treated LIV the way you’re treating TGL you’d have WAY more credibility.
