
Batlow Golf Club president Andrew Hockey has been the best player this week.
The introduction of a twilight competition on Thursday afternoons has proven very popular with some of the new players as well as the die-hard golfers at Batlow.
Last Thursday Ari Lavia teamed up with Ross Allen to play a two-person Ambrose and their score of 29.75 was the best of the night other teams to do well were Canlin and Vazzy and M and J Howell.
Andrew Hockey had a great day out on Friday when he took the winner’s prize in the 9-hole stableford competition played.
Hockey recorded a very nice 28 points which will no doubt see him come under the watchful eye of the handicapper.
Joe Ross just nudged Kerry Skein for second place. As well as the overall win Hockey also won the pin on No 3.
Only a small field played on Wednesday and on this occasion Maria Irwin won with 25 Stableford points, Derek Burgess was second with 22 and John Hides third with 20 points.
On Saturday a 4BBB was played, Ron Canlin teamed up with Burg and they won over Maria Irwin and her partner Cooper Winter.
Several more tree limbs have come down from the gum trees on the edges of the fairways. Players and others using the course are reminded to steer clear of the areas affected. Best player this week club president Andrew Hockey.
