After hitting into a net for the last couple of years, I decided it was time to build a more traditional/immersive simulator. I couldn't break the bank and only get top of the line gear, but also didn't want to cheap out on every piece. Ultimately I wanted something that looked good, and also performed well. I would say it's about 95% done, and I am proud of how it's turned out.
I did a lot of research into each piece, and thought others might find these links and prices helpful. The turf is 12'x15', and the screen is 9'x12'.
Only thing I would probably do different is go with different turf next time. It is fine, but the stimp is slower than I would like. Best purchase was probably the wall pads and excercise mats. I spent so much time researching, I don't think you can find a better price for either one.

Great build. The wall pads especially look nice, I’m going to pick some up myself
Hey looks good. What is protecting the ball from bouncing back for the bottom 4-5 inch’s?
Fantastic. Even shared the Google Docs.
This is how all these build shares should be.
Screen questions:
You’ve got foam, then a moving blanket then a net. How much space is behind the screen to the first layer and how’s the bounce back?
Awesome. I have the same 3d printed ball dispenser… love it!
Looks awesome!
Do i have the only house built after 2010 that you cant swing a club in????
How close is your hitting mat to the screen?
Looks great ! Love the spreadsheet. One question. I see the impact screen is covering the frame. Hitting the extreme sides or top would make a bad bounce back ? Or do the side panels cover that ?
Your basement has high enough ceilings to accommodate ? That’s impressive
Good work OP sharing this with my brother who is starting a build! Thanks.
OP thank you so much for sharing the spread sheet. You’re the best!
What are the room dimensions? Im looking to put together a simulator in a 16 ft (L) x 14 ft (W) x 12 ft (H) room. I noticed the turf was 15 x 12 so im assuming the rooms about 16 x 12?
Where is that projector mounted in relation to the hitting area?
This is a great setup that doesn’t break the bank. I’ll keep some mental notes (and that docs link) for the future.
QQ: what did you do with the outlets, just cover them or did you redo any electrical?
Any concerns about the glass door to the left of the sim? 😬
Maybe a loose net on a track attached to the ceiling would protect against a very expensive repair against a doomsday swing (with minimal eye sore)
Bravo!
all I can see is that empty screen real estate.
Nice!
Gosh darn it you did this so much better than I did. Brilliant to build your own frame like this. I should have done that.
I see different kinds of putting turf in the spreadsheet. Are you using all of those? Any particular the best quality you’ve found?
Great work!
That is amazing build!
Looks amazing! Like the look of those wall panels. Couple questions for you on those.
What size did you go with – 2×2?
Is the material a sheen similar to leather or is it more of a foam material?
How long did it take to get delivered from Alibaba?
