BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Back Bay has a new addition for those interested in mini putts, among other activities.
Swingers Mini Golf has just opened its new Boston location. The 21-and-over venue is three levels with a restaurant and bar, carnival arcade games, and two nine-hole mini-golf courses.
The Boylston Street location is decked out in retro-style booths and walls, and the mini golf courses are filled with unique obstacles, like a giant Ferris Wheel and carousel.
Swingers Vice President of Marketing, Carolyn Jones, said there’s a similar look at their other four venues across the nation.
“All of our Swingers venues are designed around this idea and theme of an English country garden estate, but with a little bit of a modern twist on that,” said Jones.
With bars and restaurants offering similar events, like ping-pong and racing simulators, opening more often around Boston, Jones said there’s a good reason for it.
“It gives you something else to do, and not just have a drink and meal across the table from somebody, but really get into it and figure out who those people are,” said Jones. “Who are you dining with, who are you drinking with, are you dining with the crybaby or the tryhard?”
Jones said one of the best parts of her job is seeing people’s true personalities come out during the games, and while the name of the business may be suggestive, the activities are anything but.
“I promise you it is G-rated and absolutely only has to do with swinging a golf club,” said Jones.
