After a one-week break, the DP World Tour resumes its International Swing in Africa with the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa. This week sees the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa return to Karen Country Club for the first time in five years. Founded in 1937, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in Kenya and has shared hosting duties of this event with Muthaiga Golf Club. Jacques Kruyswijk produced a brilliant bogey-free weekend to win his first DP World Tour title at last year’s edition, held at Muthaiga Golf Club. The theme for the tournament this year is ‘Open to All’ and that is highlighted in the wide range of nationalities represented in the field. From England to Australia, there are players from 29 different countries. Of the 144 players who will tee it up this week, 47 have won on the DP World Tour. Among them, Freddy Schott makes his return to action following his maiden triumph at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship earlier this month.

Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

  1. I don't think most people understand that budgets are a real constraint, even in our sport. The DP World Tour Media budget only allows featured coverage of certain groups of players. These groups are almost always chosen before the beginning of a round, typically based off the players in top form expected to perform well during the tournament. The group that was chosen for this coverage today was Kruyswijk, Schott and Lawrence, and the players up to two groups ahead of or behind them, which included Jarvis. In international countries such as Kenya additionally, coverage typically begins in the afternoon, thus earlier morning players don't get as much coverage as they would typically deserve… call that luck of the draw. Thus the Tour can only make highlights with the afternoon coverage that they do have.
Sincerely do hope this helps out the more skeptical of you, and allows you give the tour the flowers they deserve for their consistent great highlights of the players they do cover.
